WASHINGTON, May 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced their endorsement of Princella Smith, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Arkansas 1st district. Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented on the endorsement:
"The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is proud to support Princella Smith. A lifelong pro-life advocate, she will be a dedicated voice for women and the unborn in Washington.
"Princella Smith would be the youngest pro-life woman in Congress, a trailblazer like Susan B. Anthony herself. Princella is living proof of the tremendous numbers of young women today who reject the idea that women need abortion to succeed."
The Republican Primary is May 18, where Princella Smith faces Rick Crawford. The winner will challenge State Senator Steve Bryles, Chad Causey, State Representative David Cook, Terry Green, Ben Ponder, or Former State Senator Tim Wooldridge in the general election.
Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsements are promoted to the organization's nationwide membership of over 280,000 Americans. The SBA List Candidate Fund endorses pro-life female candidates, as well as pro-life male candidates who run against female candidates in favor of abortion rights. In 2008, the SBA List Candidate Fund raised over $1 million.
The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.

Today, Princella received the endorsement of Caldwell cotton farmer, B. Lindsey.
Lindsey, a former star athlete and brother of real estate tycoon Jim Lindsey, is the owner of the B. Lindsey Farm and Gin. His commitment to profitable cotton production, high quality, and conservation earned him the 2008 High Cotton Award for the Delta states.
"I'm supporting Princella because I think she's a viable candidate for the office of U.S. Representative and I know she will represent the First Congressional District well,” said Lindsey.
We're thrilled to have the support of Mr. Lindsey. The Lindseys are a well respected family in the farming community and across the state. Mr. Lindsey recognizes the need to have real change in Washington.
Lindsey is among numerous endorsements that Princella has gathered in her bid to be the Republican nominee for Congress. Others include Arkansas Youth Services CEO & City Council Member, Madelyn Keith of Clarksdale; Caster Tax Insurance Owner, Gerald Caster of Mt. Home; KARN Radio Talk Show Host Dave Elswick of Cabot; Chairman of the Cross County Farm Service Agency, Todd Sisk of Wynne; Andrews Bookkeeping Owner, Darlene Andrews of Wynne; and Arkansas State Representatives Roy Ragland and Ed Garner. Princella has also secured the endorsements of Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and the well-known GOP strategist, Mary Matalin.

Princella congratulated the Wynne High School boys basketball team on a great season following a Yellowjackets loss in the 5A State Championship game Thursday night.
They had some fantastic games this year and, even though they didn’t win State, they should be proud of the season they had. The whole town of Wynne is very proud of them.
Princella lettered in basketball at Wynne High School.

State Representative Roy Ragland announced Monday that he is endorsing Princella in her candidacy for Congress in Arkansas’ First District.
“Princella Smith brings new energy, compassion, and her conservative principles into this campaign,” Ragland said. “She has shown a willingness to work hard and travel the district to bring her message of limited government and lower taxes to the voters. This is the kind of representation we need in Washington, D.C. Please join with me in my support for Princella Smith for U.S. Congress.”
The opinions of state legislators like Representative Ragland are crucial because they are the ones working on the front line to address issues that important to Arkansans. Representative Ragland doesn’t care about politics. He cares about getting stuff done. It will be important to have a good working relationship with him when Princella is in Congress so that, together, they can make Arkansas a better place for future generations.”

Conservative radio show host Dave Elswick announced Wednesday that he is endorsing Princella in her run for Congress in Arkansas’ First Congressional District.
“This is a woman who’s running to be my representative up in Congress and I will do everything I can to see her get elected,” Elswick told his listening audience during his afternoon talk show Wednesday.
“I told everybody that I will endorse nobody else other than folks running in my particular districts. This is one that I can call, and I call it for Princella Smith. I was real excited to hear that she was going to run,” Elswick said.
Princella, who was in his studio at the time of the announcement, was honored to have Elswick’s support. “Dave is a passionate, influential, conservative voice in Arkansas—particularly in Lonoke County where it is crucial that we have strong support in the primary,” she said. “He is supporting my candidacy because he knows that I will go to Washington and fight for the conservative values that so many Arkansans share. I am both humbled and honored to accept his endorsement.”
The endorsement came toward the end of an hour-long interview in which many listeners called in to ask Princella for her views on a wide-variety of issues including healthcare, education, and government regulation.

It's official, I'm running for Congress

Today is the beginning. A beginning that is part of a larger calling heard from every county in Arkansas and every State in America – a calling for responsibility, vision and honesty. A calling that reminds me of lessons I learned in my hometown of Wynne, Arkansas; lessons that taught me the difference between right and wrong, the importance of an honest day’s work and that honest people can disagree with the dignity and respect that every Arkansan should show both his neighbor and a stranger.
Today, I humbly ask for your support. Not for me, but for what together we represent. A long-ago-forgotten commitment to do what is right instead of what is easy. A promise to our children that we will leave them a better Arkansas – and a better America – than what we have been so fortunate to enjoy – and an unwavering loyalty to our people, our freedom, and our creator.
While Washington is working on legislation that will use your tax dollars to pay for abortion, restrict your right to own and bear arms and desecrate the traditional Arkansas family, we need to rise up and demand better. Together we can do better. Together we can run a different kind of campaign, with a different kind of candidate – committed to a different kind of service.
